I was so very excited and could not wait to get to the optometrist! The whole adventure was full of fun. You know they know exactly what to do for a young child who might be afraid of going to the doctor. I don’t think that I had any fear. I felt like a big girl. I was only the first grade. I remember it all as if it were yesterday. So vividly so that I remember coming home with my new glasses. There was the trying on and getting fitted. Then of course they took me through the vision portion to see if I could read through them. Lastly, believe it or not, they made sure I could see how to walk in them. Things looked a great deal different. Oh boy, we are ready to head home. It was raining that day. I mean really raining. I know this for sure because when we arrived home. I had my glasses in their case sitting neatly in my lap. Yes, as soon as I got out of the car my first pair of glasses went into the water drain and were washed away to the river. Never to be seen again. I cried so very hard. Can we not just head to the river and meet them there. No, Tammy, it’s not possible. Yes, we had to replace them. I loved my first pair of glasses but they became on a souvenir that I got from the optometrist. Why you ask! Well, peer pressure. It wasn’t very easy to walk with confidence once I arrived to school. Did I ever wear them. Yes I wire them at home. The doctor’s prescription was to wear them while reading, or watching television. As the years passed, I renewed my prescription randomly. I can see well enough without glasses, but I’m sure that things would look a great deal brighter if I wore glasses. Now, 53, I’m ready to wear my glasses on a regular bases. I want to protect my vision and add greater health to them. I’m on a mission to live a long, healthy, and prosperous life. There may be a greater reason now, for wanting to get my eye wear prescription filled. Glasses are fashion now. Well at least for me. I have found a place that gives me a greater desire to wear glasses, Warby Parker. Their glasses are so cute! I can now wear glasses in a fashionable way. Makes over coming that peer pressure that scarred me as a child easier now! This shouldn’t be the greater reasons or wearing glasses, but it sure helps. My eye health weighs greater importance. People who wear glasses are “Simply Beautiful” Fearfully and Wonderfully Made.
I want to encourage each of you whose eyes are blessed to read this; maintain your eye health. Please, make sure you eat your way to greater eye health and whole body health. Give your eyes a rest from computers, televisions, and cell phones. Wear your sunglasses when you are outdoors and get to your optometrist yearly.
I hope this cute little story will help you to over come whatever you are challenged with today. I love you!

I am a laid back, easy going person. I love to laugh and have a great time. I find good in every situation; love to encourage others in this way as well. I've never meet a stranger. I enjoy being out and about sharing the love of Christ. I live a life of prayer of thanksgiving for great things for all. I love spending time with my family; this is where you can find me mostly. In order to be a greater part of my life, others have to genuinely receive the whole package. I love to give so that others might be blessed. I am happy and confident in whom Christ has created me to be; to which I have not always been this way. I am thankful that God has trusted to me with His heart. I am honored and blessed to be a positive impact in your life.
